Below is a summary of what we believe as an Independent Evangelical Church

We believe

There is one true God who exists forever in three distinct persons, or parts, – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:1;  Colossians 1:15-17;  John 1:1-3.

God’s love, grace, and authority are foundational in shaping our world through the acts of creation, ongoing preservation, redemption, and just judgment. Recognising these qualities can inspire us to foster a deeper appreciation and commitment to these principles in our own lives.

1 John 2:6; Colossians 3:17

The Bible is the written and inspired Word of God which is fully trustworthy and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives.

2 Timothy 3:16-17;  Proverbs 30:5;  Psalm 119:105.

All people are made in God’s image, are of equal worth and are loved by Him.   We were created to worship him and to love, be holy and care for creation.

Genesis 1:27; Colossians 3:11, Isaiah 43:21

Everyone on earth has sinned, creating a separation from God, but we can acknowledge our wrongs and seek a path toward healing and reconciliation.

Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23

The Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, who came to live on earth and born of the virgin Mary, is both divine and truly human, yet without sin.

Colossians 2:9, Luke 1:34-35;  John 1:14;

Jesus exemplified a flawless life during His time on earth, ultimately sacrificing Himself on the cross for the redemption of our sins.

Philippians 2:7-8;  1 John 3:5;  Romans 5:6-11.

By embracing the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, we can find a transformative path to unity with a holy God. His willingness to take our place in death not only addresses the cost of sin but also empowers us to overcome evil, fostering a meaningful reconciliation with God.

Colossians 2:14; Ephesians 2:16

Jesus decisively conquered death by rising from the grave and ascended into heaven, demonstrating His ultimate authority and offering undeniable hope to humanity.

Revelation 1:18; Matthew 28:5-6;   Mark 16:19.

We are made right with God solely through His grace, which is granted to us by faith in Christ.  All who trust Jesus as their Saviour are forgiven and accepted by God.

1 John 1:9;  Romans 3:22;  Romans 8:1.

It is the ministry of God, the Holy Spirit, that leads us to repentance. This unites us with Christ through being born again, empowering our discipleship and enabling our witness.  The Holy Spirit lives within every believer.

Romans 8:11;  John 16:8;  1 Corinthians 6:19.

The Church is fundamentally comprised of its people, not merely a building, and Christ is the head. It is the Holy Spirit's gifts that empower us to worship God and proclaim the Good News of Jesus. We must recognise our collective responsibility to live out these truths in our lives and communities.

Colossians 1:18; Matthew 28:18-20

One day, Jesus will come back to Earth to bring judgment to all. Those who place their trust in Him will experience eternal life alongside Him. However, those who turn away from Jesus will face separation from God's presence forever. Remember, Jesus Christ is the sole path to God.

Matthew 25:21;  Romans 6:23;  John 14:6.
