While you will find many churches calling their main meeting space The Sanctuary, we like to call ours the Worship Lounge.. We want members and visitors to feel comfortable and at home to worship in any way that they feel led, and the small size of the building makes it like a large living room!
We hope you will join us in song, as that encourages our musicians, but you are free to sit, kneel or dance, however the Spirit leads.
We believe that the Lord has given everyone a talent to use for his glory, so if you like to worship through painting, please bring your paints and easel (and a tarpaulinn to protect the carpet!). If you dance with flags, bring them (although be aware that there is limited space).
Any accomplished or budding musicians who wish to join the worship band, please speak to us and we will try to accommodate or train where necessary. All we ask is a heart of worship, some competence on your instrument, and a willingness to listen to each other and the Holy Spirit.
Music is a big part of the worship in Henley Chapel and we try to bring some of the newest contemporary worship alongside contemporary classics and the best of the traditional hymns, often with a twist!
Children are welcome and it is always a delight to see them dance to the more upbeat songs.
Our worship services usually consist of around 20 - 30 minutes of sung worship with a talk lasting around 20 minutes.
Every service ends with a bring and share tea and fellowship around a bite to eat and a cup of tea or coffee.
